On May 7, 2008 Neeraj Grover was killed and on June 30, 2011, he was killed again by the verdict of the court.

If someone does not know about the case, then here it is ...

Neeraj Grover was a promising, young TV executive working in Mumbai. Maria Susairaj was a struggling kannada actress and had moved to Mumbai to try her luck in tele-serials.
She met Neeraj during a visit to one of the television houses. According to Neeraj’s father, it was Maria who started to call him after their first meeting. Gradually both of them
started to build up a relationship. But Maria had a boyfriend named Emile Jerome Matthew, to whom she was to get engaged two months later.

The day before the crime was committed Maria shifted to a new apartment and Neeraj helped her to shift. That day Maria’s boyfriend Matthew gave her a call and was angry to hear a male voice in the background. Maria had earlier told Matthew that Neeraj had a crush on her, but that she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. Matthew told Maria not to allow Grover to stay overnight and ended the call. But he still had doubt in his mind, so booked early morning flight to Mumbai. He arrived at Maria’s flat and saw Neeraj in her bedroom. This led to a heated argument between the two. Finally Matthew stabbed Neeraj with a kitchen knife. Neeraj died there and Matthew warned Maria that if Police finds out Neeraj’s body in her apartment then she will be in trouble also. So he sent out Maria to buy a bread knief, bags, new window curtains and room fresheners. Maria purchased everything and returned to the apartment.

After that what happened is the most barbaric act ever done. Matthew took the bread knife and cut Neeraj’s body into small pieces and Maris put them in bags. Then they cleaned the blood strains on the floor, changed the window curtains having blood strains and sprayed the flat with room freshener. Maria borrowed a car from one of her friend, dumped the body bag in the vehicle, bought petrol on the way to the jungle near Amgaon village in Manor and finally they poured petrol on the bags and set them ablaze.

When Neeraj went missing, family members and friends started worrying. Two days after the murder Maria went to police and lodged a missing complaint. She handed over the mobile phone of Neeraj to Police saying he had left it in her apartment. Police started the search and found the burnt body. They found a gold chain in the remaining which Neeraj’s family identified as his. Police questioned Maria again and finally she broke down and confessed everything.

A case was registered and the verdict came on 30th June,2011, three years after the tragedy.
Maria and Matthew were found guilty, but not of murder. Matthew has been held guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and destruction of evidence and Maria had been proven guilty of destruction of evidence only. Matthew got 10 years and Maria got only 3 years in jail as punishment. Since both have already served 3 years in jail during trial, so Matthew will be in jail for another 7 years and Maria just walked free. Is this what the old parents of Neeraj were fighting for? Is justice given to them and Neeraj ?

The judge said that Matthew had killed Neeraj in a fit of jealousy after finding him at Mariaj's flat and it was not pre-planned murder, OK..lets say it was not preplanned but what about the way Neeraj’s body was treated after his death. Isn’t that a big crime also? And why the judge gave punishment for both crimes concurrently. The punishment should have been given one after another.

Maria walked free the day she was proved guilty of crime. As per Neeraj’s mother she didn’t even get punishment of one day as she was freed after being proven guilty. Is three year enough for what she has done.

Double crossing two men for her own need
Buying the knife and other things to remove evidence
Carrying Neeraj’s body parts in bags and then burning them

Many people have expressed their view that she should be given a second chance as she was afraid and so agreed to cover up. A crime done without fear is called crime and a crime done due to fear is also called a crime.
So yes she should be given a second chance but only after she serves the punishment in jail that she deserves.

A word for the lawyer of Maria - You are one of the most irresponsible, illiterate and insensitive person. I don’t know how you became a lawyer. The way you showed that picture in the press conference, claiming that - see Neeraj’s body had not been cut to 300 pieces, its just x number of pieces - showed your class and reminded us that there still some people like you in this world. Also hats off to you Maria for sitting next to your lawyer during the press conference and proving again that you don’t consider it as a big crime.

And finally our own Ram Gopal Verma (aka Ramu) . You say that your new movie is not based on Neeraj’s life. Sorry but we don’t believe you. The first trailer of your movie came on the same day the verdict was given and You said that it was just a coincidence. Sorry we don’t believe you this time also. What I believe is that this was a well planned strategy to promote the movie and watching the trailer one can easily guess that it is in deed Neeraj’s story. After reading your tweet about casting Maria, one more thing that I believe is that you have lost your mind.

Also to the media, please stop following Maria and don’t try to project her as a celebrity.
