Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court has rejected the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission’s appeal to continue with the cross-subsidy system for which the power tariff is likely to be increased.
The commission had imposed higher tariff on industrial houses and lesser tariff per unit of power on general consumers under the cross-subsidy system,extending benefit to the domestic consumers.
However, one of the industrial houses had challenged this order and got relief from the court.
The Supreme Court was moved by the commission against the Appellate Tribunal’s order in this regard.
