Puri: Jagannath Sena activists took out a unique rally in Puri on Sunday demanding use of the silver ingots recovered from Emar Mutt for development purpose of the Jagannath temple.

It may be recalled that the 522 silver slabs worth nearly Rs 90 crore were shifted by police on May 7, 2011 from Emar Mutt premises to district armory following directive of Orissa high court.

The activists of Jagannath Sena on Sunday took out a unique rally in Puri where they created some fake silver slabs and transported the metals on a cycle trolley on Grand Road, as a mark of protest.

They said that the government should use the valuable metal in the development of the Jagannath temple, instead of keeping those in police armoury.
