Bhubaneswar: Union Health Secretary PK Pradhan announced here that admission to the first batch of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar is set to begin from August this year and a 500-bed AIIMS hospital would be operational by December this year.
After visiting the institute site at Sijua near here,Pradhan reviewed the progress of the AIIMS-Bhubaneswar construction works at a meeting with top State Government officials.Expressing satisfaction on the the progress of construction work,he said that admission of 50 students is expected to begin by August and the number of seats for the MBBS course is proposed to be 100 next year with gradual completion of other works of the institute.
