RSP gets permission by SPCB to operate shut down plants

Bhubaneswar: Following anti-pollution measures and submission of a time-bound action plan, Odisha's State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) has granted permission to Rourkela Steel Plant to operate two units which were shutdown since last four days.

According to RSP sources,they have been granted permission to operate the shut down units basing on a comprehensive time-bound action plan presented before the board last week and the action already initiated for pollution control at two units.

It may be recalled that two units of RSP were shut down on January 16 in compliance with the directive of SPCB.

The company,in a statement, affirmed its commitment towards fulfilling the action plans on emission control in a time-bound manner.

The SPCB has been assured by a delegation of RSP led by its CEO G S Prasad that concrete steps were being taken to rectify certain lacunae by putting in place the action plan.
