
Cuttack: Former Indian cricketer Debasis Mohanty was appointed by Orissa Cricket Association as Ranji Team Coach for a period of one year.
According to sources, Australian cricketer Michael Bevan,who was earlier appointed by OCA as coach of Orissa's Ranji Trophy team, will not be available for coaching due to personal reason. Mohanty was selected for the purpose.
It may be recalled that Debasish Mohanty had made the state proud by finding a place in Indian cricket team.He has played as a right-arm medium-fast bowler in 2 Tests and 45 ODIs during the period from 1997 to 2001. Mohanty took 57 wickets in 45 ODIs and 4 wickets in 2 test match. He also represented Orissa and East Zone in the Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy respectively.
