Bargarh: Local police achieved a major success in their anti-Maoist operations when they arrested top Maoist Dhiren Mahato alias Girish along with one of his trusted comrades on Tuesday.

Bargarh: Bhubaneswar-Balangir intercity express rammed in to a truck at an unmanned level- crossing at Barahgoda in Bargarh district on Sambalpur- Bargarh railwayline on Monday,injuring driver of the vehicle severely.
A forest guard was killed by Maoists in Bargarh
Bargarh: Maoists again killed a person assuming him to be a Police informer, this time it was 33 year old Narayana Duan, who was a forest guard in Bargarh.
Duan was dragged from Jaipur village and was killed in a near by place. His body was found with his hands tied.

Bargarh: On Saturday evening,a farmer has allegedly committed suicide here, as he was unable to bear the loan burden and crop loss due to untimely rain.
Lightning takes lives of three and injures two
Bargarh:On Monday, three teenagers were killed and two others sustained serious injuries when lightning struck them at Tora village in Bargarh district.
Reportedly,the victims were sitting in a temple on a hill top in their village when lightning struck them.
Maoist cadre arrested
Bargargh-Police have arrested one Sri Satrughna Biswal alias Mangulu,a maoist cadre from Bargarh Police station jurisdiction.Arms and ammunition as well as cash have also been seized from him by the police
